We’ve just finished the season and can’t wait to start again. We wan to thank all our customers and friends who have visited us and seeing the Xmas is approaching, we want to give away a very special present. It’s very simple: “like” us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/king.millenium) before January the 9th and enter the comp to win a boat trip to the Mentawai on the King Millenium.

Rules of the competition:

How to enter:

Simply “like” King Millenium’s Facebook (www.facebook.com/king.millenium) profile before January 8, 2012. On January 9 we will pick a winner among all the people who “like” King Millenium and announce it.

Prize:

• A 12 day standard boat trip on the King Millenium 2.

It does not include:

• Plane tickets and expenses to and from Padang
• Travelling insurance (compulsory)

Conditions to enter:

• Age: You must be of at least 18 years of age to enter.
• Availability: the winner will have to choose from the trips shown in the 2012 -2013 King Millenium’s calendar (www.surfingmentawai.com), as long as the trip ends up taking place (minimum 8 people)
• Use by: The winner will have the whole of 2012 and 2013 to choose the dates of his trip from. If he doesn’t take the trip during this time, he will loose the prize forever.
• The winner can transfer the prize to a third person. He or she will have to inform King Millenium of the identity of the new winner person.

King Millenium and EVOA have signed an agreement to work together in the Mentawai Isl. (Indonesia) to protect coral reefs and marine life.

EVOA. is a young French sunscreen maker, pioneer in the development of organic and bio sunblocks that do not damage the coral reefs nor the marine life. The company was born when its founder, French surfer Édouard Theovenot, read a paper published by the Marine Biology Dept. of the Ancona University (Italy) showing that even in very small quantities, the toxic components of most sunscreens available were highly damaging coral reefs and the surrounding marine life. Some months later Édouard quit his job and founded EVOA, developing a range of 100% organic and damage free sunscreens that were scientifically tested and validated by the same Marine Biology Dept. in 2010, in the reefs off Siladen (Indonesia). Not only EVOA range of products is 100% organic but they also avoid the use of some natural minerals such as zinc, which can be very toxic to the marine life. EVOA has a wide range of sunscreens specifically designed for water sports and surfing, from SPF 15 to SPF50, a lipstick and a post surfing moisturizers.

King Millenium., which charters boats for surfers in the Mentawai Isl. Since 2003, where most of the waves break on coral reefs, is also very concerned with their protection. “We are aware of the damage us surfers cause to the environment by using certain materials in our boards, waxes, etc. so it’s our duty to try to minimize this impact as much as possible” says Jaime Izquierdo, Marketing Manager of King Millenium. And he adds, “When we found out about EVOA and their set of values, we decided to fully support them. If us surfers don’t look after our playground, who will?” .

Selamat Jalang Julian,
On Saturday June 4 our friend and King Millenium guide Julian “Queima” Yanez left us. The whole King Millenium family is mourning the loss of our friend. Julian loved the sea, be it surfing some of the world’s best waves, diving or just walking on the beach. We will always carry you and your smile in our hearts.
Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Have a good trip our friend / Selamat jalang tema.

Last year we had pro surfers Jeremy Flores, Micky Picon and Benjamin Sanchis with us on the KMII, along with top photographer Tim McKenna. Nicolas “Daz” Dazet and his video crew were also on board, and during the last Quiksilver Pro at Hossegor they presented the film of that trip. Finally we can all watch it as it comes free with the June 2011 issue of French magazine Surf Session. Don’t miss out as the pits they scored at Greenbush are amazing. Cheers. The KM crew.

Our last trip on board the KM1 was great… We had a couple of medium swells and surfed different waves: Burger, Maccas, Lance’s Left, Ht’s, Bintang etc… You can check the photos from the trip here.
